We are pleased to announce that ALL of our teachers have received their certification in GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) as part of the OCDE Project GLAD®. This experience provided an opportunity for our teachers to learn pedagogy and instructional strategies in order to implement an integrated balanced literacy approach to language acquisition.
Shout out to Agency Trainers, Ana Haskins and Christina Kwon Loose for their leadership and dedication in this school-wide endeavor. A Special Thank you to Fremont Coaches, Patricia Diaz, Monica Gonzalez and Teacher Model, Nidia Ureña. Congratulations to our recent GLAD graduates: Maria Ramirez, Becky Kruzic, Lisa Carpenter, Vanessa Dang, Fadwa Alsaleh, Brenda Rios, Linda Tang, Lynn Ho, Tinh Ta, Evelyn Castillo, Giuiliana Vaccaro, Charles Gomez and Vanessa Banuelos. These teachers join our Dual Language Immersion teachers: Ana Acosta, Lorena Arias, Janeth Banks, Jessica Bañuelos, Irasema Fonseca, Veronica Garcia, Mariana Guzman, Victoria Infante, Iris Jule, Karina Lomeli, Natali Lovera, Karina Martinez, Susana Ramirez, Nidia Ureña, Diana Zavala in receiving certification status. Congratulations to the 1st place Fremont Chargers Flag Football and Cheerleading teams for winning the all city championships. These students will be recognized at the AUSD School Board student recognition on Tuesday, February 6th at 4pm (before the School Board meeting).

All members of the AUSD family are welcome to attend the Swearing-In Ceremony for the 2024-2025 Student Board Member Keiko Rakin (AHS junior) and Student Board Member Alternate Madison Kang (MKHS senior). The ceremony will take place at the beginning of the August 27th Board Meeting (6:00pm). At that meeting, the 12 students of the Student Advisory Council will be formally introduced to the public. Afterwards, the Board will take brief recess for a celebratory reception in the their honor.

At the August 27th Board of Education meeting, there will be two staff reports presented: (1) Bullying and Disciplinary Practices Overview and (2) Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CCEIS) Plan Update. We welcome questions from community members on either of these report topics. These questions will be used as we finalize the presentation and to guide discussion by the board members.
